We’re recruiting additional freelancers to extend our pool of trainers.
Our training
Currently most of our training is commissioned by health and social care organisations and delivered online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, though we also offer face-to-face courses. Learn more about our training.
Our immediate need is for trainers to deliver our 2 ½ hour live virtual training course Supporting Home Safety for Children under Five. This addresses the learning needs of a broad group of health and social care practitioners.
The work includes updating and tweaking the programme to suit the needs of specific clients, including incorporating local data and reflecting the needs of attendees.
There may also be the chance to deliver our longer face-to-face training, although these commissions are now relatively rare.
Looking ahead, there may be scope to develop other courses from scratch, on different topics and for different audiences, depending on clients’ requirements and the needs of the market.

We are looking for trainers with the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Good knowledge of child accident prevention, including: injury types and causes, safety practices, and the significance of child development and deprivation.
- A commitment to learning more about child accident prevention and keeping your knowledge up-to-date.
- An understanding of the challenges facing parents in keeping their children safe and facing practitioners who work with families in local communities.
- Knowledge of how best to engage with parents and carers about child accident prevention, and the ability to share practical ideas with course participants.
- Experience of delivering training online, including the practical aspects of setting up events and using a variety of tools and approaches to engage participants.
- Confidence to liaise with commissioners to finalise course content and agree when training will take place.
