Do you manage or commission early years services such as health visiting or children’s centres?
Do you want to make every contact count, and deliver on the accident prevention elements of the Healthy Child Programme and Early Years High Impact Area 5?
In-house training from CAPT can help your workforce make the most of every contact with parents and carers, and offer consistent, evidence-based advice on child safety, building on our recent collaboration with Public Health England.
With in-house training, our expert trainers come direct to you, adapting course content to suit your local needs. Your organisation provides the venue and recruits course participants.

Our courses
Our courses include:
- How to engage parents on child accident prevention, with coaching in using our acclaimed session plan pack to bring child safety to life in group work or one-to-ones.
“All the practitioners went away with ideas of how to create interesting ways to teach safety to parents and the confidence to try some of the methods through the useful resources from CAPT.”
- Supporting home safety for the under-fives, including using a home safety checklist to empower parents.
“I will amend our safety checklist and help our families to take ownership of risk assessing their homes.”

“Every area is different but CAPT training courses equip local teams with the understanding, insight and confidence needed by ALL those who are working to ensure the safety and wellbeing of young children and families. Our approach is both informative and interactive…the aim is to learn from each other and the courses build on the shared enthusiasm and experience of those who take part.”
